Although this piece is a surreal painting, I felt that it was a bit on the disturbing side and that I had better post it in the macabre/horror section.

I LOVE the details around the edges of the wound itself, the contrast between the white and red is lovely, and the slightly scabby effect around the edges is just perfect! I would love to see this piece in person, as I feel that the slight glare (camera flash?) detracts a little bit from what I can see would be a beautiful gradiation and blending of colour, especially in the background~

(Eheh, I just realised that may have sounded a touch creepy, but I swear that I'm just a biology nut, not a serial killer. ;p)

i agree with the above, the details of the wound itself are really good! i really like this one. I feel the disturbing part you are talking about but i wouldn't go so far as to say it belongs in the horror section. very cool! :D

I just wanted to be safe. I have had this piece at a few shows and some seemed to find it disturbing. I have also had a big heavy metal looking guy LOVE it. lol I am glad you like it though, for sure. :)

Nah, did not sound creepy at all... Don't worry, Artists tend to notice detail like that in everyday life... Even when the subject matter is a scab. :) Yes the picture has a big nasty glare, but it is oil and has a seal on it. In RL it is cooler. I am happy you like it. :D

Not disturbed at all just mightily impressed. I LOVE this one. I love that it's the same theme as Bleed but so very different. It made an impact on me straight away and I love it. :clap:
